BAPTISMS

In baptism we are born into the life of the church and a new life in Christ. We are commissioned to be Christ’s body in the world. Water is blessed, poured over the head of the person being baptized as they are named as Christ’s own in the name of God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

At one time, it was primarily infants and young children who were baptized, but now it is common for those who come to faith as adults to seek to be received into the household of God through baptism.

Baptisms normally take place during a 10:30 a.m. Sunday service as part of the regular worship life of the parish when the church community is gathered and can renew their own baptismal vows as they indicate their support for the newly baptized.

If you would like to have your child baptized at St. Paul’s Church, Runnymede, or to be baptized yourself, please contact the church office at 416-769-2340 to arrange an appointment with Father Maurice François.

CONFIRMATIONS

Confirmation is an ancient rite that includes the laying on of hands by the Bishop. As such, confirmations usually take place when the Bishop will be visiting the parish or may take place at St. James Cathedral, with members from a group of churches being confirmed.

Confirmation is intended for those who were baptized as a child and have now reached a level of maturity and wish to acknowledge and affirm the vows made for them at their baptism.

If you are interested in arranging a confirmation, please contact the church office at 416-769-2340 to arrange an appointment with Father Maurice François.

WEDDINGS

Your wedding is one of the most important moments in your life. We are delighted that you are thinking about solemnizing it at St. Paul’s Church, Runnymede. As you exchange your vows, we hope that you will feel blessed in your love, surrounded by the support of friends and family.

We have been performing marriages since 1909. The traditional beauty of St. Paul’s Church, Runnymede and spacious interior make it an ideal wedding venue.

If you are interested in having an Anglican wedding service at St. Paul’s Church, Runnymede, please contact the church office at 416-769-2340 to arrange an appointment with Father Maurice François. Please note that some marriage instruction classes may be required.

FUNERALS

Losing a loved one can be a highly emotional and difficult time. We seek to be a source of support when a death is imminent or occurs. There are several rites that our priests can provide in the days leading up to and following a death.

Planning ahead can provide some comfort to you and your loved ones. Consider speaking to a funeral home and/or priest and making arrangements ahead of a death.

We are available to help develop a service – ahead of time or as the need arises – that commemorates and gives thanks for the life of the deceased.

If you would like assistance with planning a funeral, please contact the church office at 416-769-2340 to arrange an appointment with Father Maurice François.

PASTORAL CARE

Life can sometimes be challenging and you may need someone to speak with to help you deal with what life throws your way – family conflicts, addictions, job loss, relationship issues, health challenges, caring for an elderly or sick family member, end of life decisions, etc. Sometimes it can all feel like too much to deal with. Remember you are not alone.

If you need someone to offer pastoral care as you or a loved one deals with these kinds of issues, please contact the church office at 416-769-2340 to arrange an appointment with Father Maurice François.
