Children & Youth

At St. Paul’s Church, Runnymede children and youth are a vital part of our community. We strongly believe that children are the future of the church and we work to actively include them in our services.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY

Here at St. Paul’s Church, Runnymede children are included in the Sunday service.

A children’s bulletin is included in the weekly Sunday service bulletin. The children’s bulletin includes a children’s message written at an age-appropriate level. In addition, activity sheets (such as a colouring page, word search, crossword puzzle, etc.) are included to reinforce the children’s message. Children are encouraged to read the message and complete the activity sheets during the service; or, for younger children, parents are encouraged to take the message home and read it to their children during the week.

A children’s reflection is offered before the sermon to help children understand what is being talked about in the sermon.

A children’s area is included in the church on the north side of the church. Books, children’s toys, a chalkboard, puzzles, and activity sheets are available for the children.

Don’t worry if your child makes noise during the service. We love to hear the sound of children in the church! They are our future!

Please note that the last Sunday of each month is a children’s service. Children lead the readings and prayers, and take up the offering. Children’s music is included during the service. And the sermon is targeted towards children and the young at heart!

We are also introducing a mid-week children’s ministry program for children aged 4 to 18. More details will be provided as they become available or you can speak to our children’s ministry coordinator. Watch for details, coming soon.

YOUTH PROGRAM

We offer a Friday night youth program from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. for youth aged 12 to 18 (although ages are flexible!) in the gymnasium.

Activities include basketball, volleyball, and badminton.

Adult supervision is provided, although parents are encouraged to attend with their teenagers and join in the activities.

Refreshments and fellowship conclude the evening’s activities.

In addition to these activities, youth are encouraged to participate in various fundraising activities, such as coin jar collections and bottle collections. Funds collected are directed to the Youth Group Fund and are used to support youth group activities, church activities, and other worthy causes identified by the youth.
